You're probably on this page because:
- Your household is big and the softener can't keep up
- You're in a chloramine city and still taste it
- You want your system to last as long as possible
Two tanks do two jobs better than one.
Chloramine, by the numbers
- 8 of the 14 cities we serve use chloramine, which is harder to filter than chlorine.
- Over 40% of people think their water affects their skin and hair.

Two tanks last longer than one
One tank softens. One tank filters. Each gets its own full load of media.
That means longer life and no slowdown on busy days.
What you get
| Part | What it fixes |

| Softener tank [about 48,000 grain] | Hard water, even very hard |

Our take
One tank or two: the honest difference
The question we get asked most about this, after [thousands] of installs:
Combo systems put the carbon and the softener resin in one tank. That saves space and money, and for moderate water it works. But it's a compromise.
Carbon and resin need different backwash flows to clean themselves. In one tank, the system has to pick a setting that's not ideal for either one. The carbon also has to share space, so there's less of it, and in chloramine cities that matters.
With two dedicated tanks:
Each tank cleans itself the right way. There's more carbon, so it handles chloramine better and lasts longer. You replace each one separately. When the carbon is spent years from now, you replace the carbon, not the whole system.
That's why we call it our best city water system. If you're a smaller household on moderately hard water, the City Water System is plenty. If you're a bigger household, in a chloramine city, or you want the system to last as long as possible, the extra $550 goes into real performance, not a fancier label.

Questions people ask
What's the difference between the City Water System and the Premium Dual-Tank?
Both soften, filter and include reverse osmosis. The Dual-Tank gives softening and carbon their own tanks with more media, so it lasts longer and keeps up with bigger households.
Is a dual-tank the same as a twin tank softener?
No. A twin tank has two softener tanks that take turns. Our dual-tank has one softener tank and one carbon tank.
How long does the carbon last?
[Confirm with partner.] A dedicated carbon tank with more media lasts noticeably longer than a shared tank.
Is the Dual-Tank worth the extra $550?
If you have a bigger household or very hard water, yes. Media lasts longer and the system keeps up on busy days. For most smaller homes, the City Water System is plenty.
Does it take more space?
It needs room for two tanks plus the salt tank, about [dimensions]. We confirm your space before you book.
Does it remove chloramine?
[Confirm carbon type.] Catalytic carbon handles chloramine best.
How long does installation take?
Usually a few hours, by a licensed local plumber.
What if I don't notice a difference?
30-day money-back guarantee on the system.
